God’s Promise
Bible Passage: Genesis 12:1–7; Genesis 15:1–6; Genesis 17:1–8
God told Abraham to leave his country and go to a land that He would show him. Abraham did not know all the details, but he chose to obey God by faith. God promised to make Abraham into a great nation, to bless him, and to use his family to bless all the families of the earth.
This lesson teaches us that God keeps His promises, even when we have to wait. Abraham trusted God long before he could see how everything would happen. In the same way, we can trust God with our lives, knowing that His plans are good and His Word is always true.
Memory Verse:
“And he believed in the Lord; and he counted it to him for righteousness.” Genesis 15:6 (KJV)
Hands-On Activity:
Go outside this evening and look at the night sky. As you look up remember that God keeps His promises. God told Abraham that his family would be as numerous as the stars.
Children’s Prayer:
Dear God, thank You for the story of Abraham. Thank You for showing us that You always keep Your promises. Help us to trust You, obey You, and believe You even when we cannot yet see the whole plan. Amen.
