All Things are Possible
We are living in a world filled with uncertainty. Sickness and disease touch families everywhere. Financial struggles weigh heavily on many hearts. People are hurting, worried, discouraged, and searching for answers. It can feel as though trouble is waiting around every corner. But in the middle of all the noise, fear, and uncertainty, the Word of God still speaks. So lets get our Bibles out and take a look at what Jesus said about faith and what God’s Word may mean for your life today.
Have you ever prayed for something and then immediately started figuring out all the reasons it probably wouldn’t happen? We believe, but then doubt creeps in. We wonder if we are good enough, strong enough, worthy enough, or if the situation has simply gone too far. Yet Jesus had a remarkably simple way of dealing with faith.
In Matthew 8, a centurion came to Jesus because his servant was sick. He believed Jesus didn’t even have to come to his house. All Jesus had to do was speak the word. Jesus said:“Go thy way; and as thou hast believed, so be it done unto thee.” Matthew 8:13 KJV Also in Matthew 9, two blind men followed Jesus, crying out for mercy. Jesus asked them a simple question: “Believe ye that I am able to do this?” they said yes. So Jesus touched their eyes and said “According to your faith be it unto you”.
There is something powerful in those words. As thou hast believed and According to your faith. Sometimes we make faith far more complicated than Jesus did. We think we need to understand exactly how God is going to work something out before we can trust Him.
But faith doesn’t have to know how. Faith simply believes.
Maybe you are facing something today that looks impossible. Maybe you have prayed about it so long that doubt has begun whispering, nothing is ever going to change. But don’t let doubt have the final word. Bring your needs to Jesus. Trust His wisdom. Trust His timing. Trust His power.
You don’t have to figure everything out.
Only believe.
Food for Thought
What would change in your heart today if you stopped asking, “How can this possibly happen?” and started saying, “Lord, I believe You are able”?
Prayer
Lord, help me to trust You even when I cannot see what You are doing. Quiet the doubts in my heart and remind me that nothing is too difficult for You. Help me to simply believe. Amen.
